Hello, I'm a children's illustrator living near Portland, OR. I have been making art since I was a little kid. I grew up surrounded by piles of books from the library. I loved being immersed in the worlds of fairy tales, Beatrix Potter, Frog and Toad, and the Little House series to name a few. I loved how the pictures could tell so much of the story, and transport you to another time and place. But it wasn't until after high school when I worked as a nanny (and read tons of books to kids), that I rediscovered my love of children's book illustration and wanted to pursue it further. I wanted to create that same magic I experienced as a kid!

I went to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and after 10 years (part time working odd jobs!) I earned my fancy BFA in illustration and have been freelancing ever since.

My artwork is created with watercolors, ink, and colored pencils on watercolor paper, and illustration board. I get inspiration from things around me in every day life like people watching, things in my garden, and going on walks. I have a soft spot for dark-haired girls of mixed ethnicity (I'm Filipino/ Irish/ Slovenian) and corgi puppies! I love what I do, and feel so thankful to be able to make art for a living.

When not illustrating I'm usually outside working in my garden, or hanging out with my film-maker husband and our corgi mix dog, Buko.
