Hello, I'm a children's illustrator in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have been making art since I was a little kid. I grew up surrounded by piles of books from the library. I loved being immersed in the worlds of fairy tales, Beatrix Potter, Frog and Toad, and the Little House series to name a few. I loved how the pictures could tell so much of the story, and transport you to another time and place. But it wasn't until after high school when I worked as a nanny (reading tons of books to kids), that I rediscovered my love of children's book illustration and wanted to pursue it further. I wanted to create that same magic I experienced as a kid!

After that I went to the Academy of Art University where I got my BFA in illustration, (though it took me 10 years part time working odd jobs!) and have been freelancing ever since.

My artwork is created with watercolors, ink, and colored pencils on watercolor paper, and illustration board. I get inspiration from things around me in every day life like people watching, things in my garden, and going on walks. Also libraries! I have a soft spot for dark-haired girls of mixed ethnicity (I'm Filipino/ Irish/ Slovenian) and corgi puppies! I love what I do, and feel so thankful to be able to make art for a living.

When not illustrating I'm usually out in the California sunshine taking care of my garden, or hanging out with my film-maker husband and our corgi mix dog, Buko.
